Revel Pottery: A Brand Rooted in Craftsmanship

Some brands come together quickly. Others slowly take shape, much like a piece of pottery on the wheel.
Revel Pottery was one of those projects.
From the very beginning, I was drawn to the heart behind this business. Pottery is a practice of patience. It asks you to slow down, embrace imperfections, and find beauty in the process. I wanted the brand identity to reflect those same values.

Finding the Feeling
Before selecting colors, fonts, or illustrations, I spent time thinking about how Revel Pottery should feel.
Warm hands wrapped around a freshly fired mug.
Clay-covered worktables.
Sunlight streaming through a studio window.
The satisfaction of creating something with care.
The goal wasn't to create a brand that felt trendy or overly polished. It needed to feel grounded, welcoming, and deeply connected to the handmade nature of the work.
Inspired by Earth and Fire
The visual identity draws inspiration from the materials themselves.
Soft clay tones, weathered sage greens, warm neutrals, and rich earthy accents create a palette that feels natural and lived in. The colors are reminiscent of pottery studios, garden landscapes, and the quiet beauty of handmade objects.
Typography was chosen to balance warmth and functionality, while custom illustrations and graphic elements add personality without competing with the work itself.
Every element was designed to support the pottery, not overshadow it.
Creating a Cohesive Brand
The final identity extends far beyond a logo.
Together, we created a flexible brand system that can be used across social media, packaging, market displays, promotional materials, and future growth.
The deliverables included:
Primary and secondary logos
Brand color palette
Typography system
Custom illustrations and iconography
Social media templates
Promotional materials
Comprehensive brand guidelines
The result is a brand that feels cohesive, recognizable, and true to the spirit of Revel Pottery.
Celebrating Imperfection
One of the things I love most about pottery is that perfection isn't the goal. The fingerprints, subtle variations, and handmade details are what make each piece meaningful.
I wanted Revel Pottery's brand identity to embrace that same philosophy.
Rather than striving for something overly refined, we created a visual system that feels warm, approachable, and authentic. A brand that reflects the care, creativity, and craftsmanship poured into every piece.
Working on Revel Pottery was a reminder that the most memorable brands are often the ones that feel human. The ones that tell a story, invite connection, and leave room for a little imperfection.
Just like pottery itself.
